Scientific research is essential to the advancement of knowledge and must be conducted with ethical rigour, transparency, and responsibility. To this end, the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon establishes the Ethics Committee for Scientific Research (CEIC), an independent advisory body responsible for ensuring that scientific projects developed within its scope comply with the principles of academic integrity, the protection of participants, and conformity with national and international regulations.
CEIC’s mission is to promote high ethical standards in research, ensuring respect for human dignity, the protection of personal data, and compliance with the principles applicable to the participation of human beings or animals in scientific research. It issues opinions on scientific projects, fosters ethical reflection within the academic community, and encourages good research practices. Its work is guided by the principles of impartiality and multidisciplinarity, ensuring informed and well-founded assessments.
By establishing this Committee, FA.ULisboa reinforces its commitment to the quality and ethical responsibility of research, promoting an academic environment grounded in integrity, transparency, and conscious innovation.
